FAAS - Technical Visit to İGA

Within the scope of the AVM 102 Airport and Operations course of the Faculty of Aviation and Aeronautical Sciences, Aviation Management Program, a technical trip to Istanbul Airport was organized on December 2, 2025, by Dr. Hatice Küçükönal with the support of the IGA Training and Development Unit. During the trip, our students had the opportunity to observe airport facilities and operations on-site.

Throughout the visit, terminal facilities and operations were examined, including check-in and security procedures, baggage systems, and visual aids and operations on the apron and taxiways on the airside. The Airside Operations Center and ARFF units were also visited, where detailed information was provided on apron activities and the coordination of ground handling services. By listening to experts, our students gained practical insights into modern airport technologies and operational processes.

This technical trip reinforced the theoretical knowledge learned in class with real field experience, enhancing students’ interest in and awareness of the aviation sector.
