Özyeğin University Brings Together Technology and Business Leaders to Shape the Future of Artificial Intelligence
We proudly hosted the inaugural meeting of the OzU AI Platform, bringing together academia, the business world, and technology leaders for the first time in Türkiye to shape the future of Artificial Intelligence.
As a result of our close and sustainable collaborations with the business community, we convened the OzU AI Platform meeting, where executives from the 24 member institutions discussed the corporate applications, transformation processes, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce.
In his opening remarks, Hüsnü M. Özyeğin, our Founder and Chair of the Board of Trusteesstated: “The AI transformation we are witnessing today is the most profound, fastest, and comprehensive to date. Therefore, a cultural transformation is essential. Regardless of your line of work, the most important element is human capital. In such a far-reaching process, our greatest responsibility is to prepare young generations for this world and to build a strong bridge between the business world and academia.”
Welcoming participants as the host of the event, our President, Prof. Barış Tan, emphasized in his remarks: “It is impossible for the academic world to remain indifferent to such a transformative development as artificial intelligence. This sustainable structure, which we call ‘Collective Intelligence’ and believe should be spearheaded jointly by academia, the private sector, and the public sector, will make significant contributions to Türkiye’s AI-driven transformation process.”
The event also featured insights from Murat Özyeğin, Fiba Group Chair of the Board and Executive Committee; Ayşegül İldeniz, Chair of the TÜSİAD Silicon Valley Network; Gülser Corat, CEO of NoBiasAI?; Dr. Usama M. Fayyad, Chair of KX Technology; Hamit Hamutcu, Founder of Elements; Dr. Tolga Kurtoğlu, Corporate CTO & SVP; and Yahya Ülker, Vice Chair & Transformation & Technology Leader at Yıldız Holding, who shared their insights on the platform.
A key takeaway shared by our panelists was the consensus that “to fully capitalize on the added value offered by artificial intelligence, countries must focus on learning and skill development with a collective awareness, in addition to infrastructure development.” Thanks to our robust collaborations with Türkiye’s leading business representatives and universities prominent in AI research, the OzU AI Platform will continue to sustainably advance knowledge sharing and collaborative projects in the field of artificial intelligence.
